On 16th December 2007 we donated £1000 to Asthma Uk and £1000 to Allergy Uk in memory of Joshua

We have requested that Asthma Uk allocate this money to research and keep us informed on how the research is going.

We received a letter back on 19th December 2007 and this is how it reads.

Dear Miss Goodwin

Thankyou for forwarding the extremely generous donation of £1000 in  memory of Joshua Goodwin.  Please accept my sympathy and condolences for your sad loss.

We would also ask you to pass on out thanks to all those who gave donations.

As requested the donation has been allocated to research, which is aiming to investigate why colds and viruses lead to 80% of Asthma attacks in children.  The projest leader, Professor Davies, believes the study could identify a novel treatment for the prevention of virus-induced asthma attacks in children and help clarify the possible causes of asthma in early childhood. Please find enclosed further information about this study.

Asthma currently affects 5.2 million people inthe UK.  Asthma Uk funds vital research and provides information and advice to people with asthma.  As one of the main funders of asthma research, your support will help us understand more about asthma, and ultimately, free people from its side effects.

We will contact you in February to let you know how the fund is doing, but if you have any questions, or would like further information please contact our supporter & information team.

Thank you again for thinking of Asthma Uk at this difficult time.

With very best wishes
Yours Sincerely
