The Joshua Goodwin Asthma Foundation has been set up in Joshua's memory to help raise awareness of Asthma and help other
children with Asthma.
Joshua died on 8th August 2007, Aged 8 after suffering an Asthma attack whilst playing football. This Asthma attack
was triggered by an allergy.
The foundation will be providing nebulisers for children that need them and will be raising
awareness by way of education to inform people that Asthma, although it can be controlled, can also be very dangerous.
Asthma is a very common illness that 1 in 5 children suffer from and 1 in 10 Adults. It seems to have become so
common that the seriousness of it is being overlooked.
We will be trying to introduce Asthma into all first aid courses, and arranging for there to be aids to help anyone suffering
with an Asthma attack put into a basic first aid kit, at football, schools and all other sporting grounds and events.
We will also be looking into allergy testing for people with asthma to determine what triggers there asthma.
